I picked up this album from a used record store in Chicago when I was a teenager in the early Seventies. To put it simply and honestly, I fell in love with this record, especially the track, "The Way You Look Tonight."

The entire album is such a serenely swinging production! The light touch of samba cascades out of Mr. Tjader's shimmering, rippling vibes like water from Heaven. Mr. Ogermann's cool (yet warm to the ear) string and, in particular, his choral arrangements, are the closest thing to a musical Nirvana that I have experienced in this life.

The studio musicians accompanying Maestro Ogermann and Cal Tjader enhance the warm, wistful and subdued romantic ambience of the music with their sympathetic melodic and rhythmic performances. I wish I'd been in the studio back in '64 to see how much fun professional musicians can have playing such soothing, swinging music.

Listen to this album while looking up at the stars, or into your partner's eyes.
