I was a little disappointed after listening to the first track. Although it starts off extremely nicely, most of what followed was a blatant rip-off of their own track "Avalanche" from their 1997 album "Imperia". They re-used the same melody and the whole time I felt that the little melody on top was missing. I'm not sure what they thought they were doing, but "The Sound" is not labeled as a rework of "Avalanche" and it instantly made me laugh about Psyshop's line reading "Now they are back with a new creative force."

HOWEVER, fortunately, all of that only applies to the first track. From 2 on, we get fresh arrangements in the pre-millenium California Sunshine style, touched by some modern full-on psy trance, but not in a way that takes anything away from the beautiful old style (unlike their 2010 release "Rebirth").

It benefits a lot from modern-day production - the basslines kick butt!
Though, many people will probably complain about the relatively "dirty" mastering of the whole album. This has, in some way, always been a part of California Sunshine's music and made it - and still makes it - sound really unique.

Those who loved the pre-millenium California Sunshine: this is your album for this summer!
