A: Indie/Dance/Pop. More or less a proper pop record and a real joy. I say proper pop record....the vocals are relatively normal if naturally quirky and the instrumental choruses certainly begin conventionally. There are of course piles of treatments and effects, slow downs speed up's as we get deeper into things but unless you're a mainstream luddite (which of course you aren't) this is the stuff you'd be quite happy to be in the charts. A little gem. [TEN]
B1: Indie/Dance: Much slower, more liquid, laid back feel than the original. Given it's a Wagon Christ remix it's also unusually even more conventional in the most past. Yes it goes a bit harebrained in the final third but you'd swear for the first 2/3's before the breakdown that this would have been the original. [NINE]
B2: Drill'N'Bass. One of the better cuts from the full album is given a planet-mu style, self remix. This result is probably more cohesive than the original (which starts noisily and aggressively without melody) and in some ways a better track. I say some ways because the first 20% of this track sounds worryingly like Commercial Dubstep. It's only when the beats kick it that it returns to much safer ground The original is probably more melodic as it progresses and has within less prominent fast breaks so the remix is not that massive a leap. Capitol K is genious. The Wagon Christ remix is definetly not one of the best Vibert's works.
