"What is interesting, is that when you study the matrix numbers of this unreleased Test-Pressing - You discover that this 45 was almost certainly considered as the second Magic Band 45 on A&M. If they had chosen 'Here I Am' as the B-side, it would have been 'Frying Pan' that would have ended lost in the vaults until 1984.
Both the released 1966 US "Moonchild" c/w "Frying Pan" on A&M 818 and this "Moonchild" c/w "Here I Am" Test-Pressing, use 1228/1229 as the matrix numbers. The difference is the released 1966 "Moonchild/Frying Pan" 45 has 1228-RE/1229-RE etched in the matrix, which could mean the decision to eventually use "Frying Pan" as the B Side was made after this tester was cut?
There is a space numerically between this cut and the released one, as the matrix number on "Here I Am" is 63411 and the matrix number for "Frying Pan" is 63923 (which is 512 numbers later in the production.. ) So this was almost certainly cut first.
NB. Just two copies to date of this Test Pressing have surfaced.
