Suprisingly good Rhino/Scorpio reissue. Pressing quality is very nice. Record is flat, clean, silent and properly centered. Mastering is good also. There's absolutely no issues with distortion or sibilance typical to these Rhono/Scorpio reissues. Sourced from who-knows-where, but who cares, as long as it sounds good. This one is definitely a keeper!

Sometimes I think perhaps 'Trout Mask Replica' is the best and most satisfying Beefheart record, then I go back and listen to this again... so freakin good!

'Lick My Decals Off, Baby' is like a more focused 'Trout Mask' with every track being an absolute knockout. I'd say the lyrics on 'Trout Mask' beat 'Lick My Decals Off Baby' hands down but in terms of songs and the overall flow of the album from start to finish, this wins out.

If you want the weirder (and in my opinion, best) Beefheart go for this, 'Trout Mask' and his last album 'Ice Cream For Crow'.

This pressing is also very nice.

This is a great re-issue in 180 gram. Thankfully, this re-issue doesn't suffer the same poor re-master job done for the 180 gram re-issue of The Spotlight Kid, and both sounds and plays excellent.
