Spun this disc on a long drive yesterday. I had the LP when it was released; and bought this Wounded Bird reissue specifically for the road. As with other Wounded Bird reissues, I'm underwhelmed with their tech. The volume levels are so soft, I have to crank the sound higher than most other CDs to hear it. Carole King has some great tracks and some strange ones here. "Lookin' Out For Number One" is not a greatest hit or a track one usually recalls from the King cannon, but it is a blistering rock track with searing electric guitar. The title track and "Read Between The Lines" are also gems. "Goat Annie" is a strange tune that seems to be a hybrid between King's "Smackwater Jack" and Tony Joe White's "Polk Salad Annie." It doesn't work that well. Overall, this is a good set with some great tracks.
