Revisiting this one almost ten years later, it stands out from the Ceephax discography as a bit of an oddity, albeit a truly excellent one. Hardcore Esplanade is essentially a concentrated dose of a style previously (and subsequently) hinted at in Andy's records. In a way, it's straight up drill n' bass, but with the signature Ceephax focus on musicality and his unmistakable sense of humor (see: the sample in "Love is Real," perhaps the only time we've heard such a sample in Ceephax's discography, period). Tracks of this particular style have popped up here and there ("Hull Drum & Bass" on Exidy Tours, "Here We Gowowowow" on Volume 2), but Hardcore Esplanade puts the spotlight on Andy's insane sequencing in a way no other 12" or full length ever has.

The most amazing Andy's vinyl from back in the days of mind breaking beats and twisted arrangements. Bombs of creativity explode straight in the face while listening to each single track. A must-have for broken dance music connoisseurs.

This 12" is freakin mental. Extremely well produced drum'n'bass from a master of programming. This will have you rolling around on the ground with muscle spasms. Fantastically original programming meets acid lines and moody synths to create what must be the best dance music since the Bogdan/Squarepusher/AFx heydays. Snatch it up while you can...this 12" is HOTTT!!!
