A very hard release, full of throbbing and tough beats with many metallic and noisy effects. All tracks are pretty loud, similar in sound and pattern - maximum and monotonous techno for the dance floors. Solid hard sounds, which abbandon all ornaments and crowd pleasing elements, but in return deliver proper techno for the head strong, with a certain synthetic touch to it. You remember those old Consumer Recreation releases by Umek? Heavy percussion and odd, sinister sound effects? If you liked that, to one extent or the other, you get some more of that here. Sound good? well that is because it does!
Standout would be Roundabouts, which has this awesome effect throughout, and it really sounds like somebody was scratching through almost the entire track. Really cool! Then, close on its heels comes the other B side track, Gettin' Funked Up, which makes me get just that. Ear piercing sharpness is dropped right from above these thick, fat drum kicks - and it has no intention of stopping. Malevolent effects, a cool new yorkish sequence (all Joey Beltram circa "Places") and minimal, stripped and crunchy to the bone percussion. Great stuff.
Fans of mid to late nineties hard techno should not be without this. I love it!
