This is part poetry and all comedy as Buk (rhymes with "puke") engages in much verbal sparring matches with his college audience while reading some of his best poems. Referring to his bottle of beer, he tells the crowd "it's not a prop...it's a necessity". But enough of the bullshit. Let's get to the so-called 'art'.

As I said, Bukowski reads some of his finest works. "The Shoelace", "The World's Greatest Loser", "Earthquake", "The Rat" and "Death of an Idiot" are some of Bukowski's most compelling works. The funny ones ("Hot", "The Sex Fiends") are all firmly rooted in tragedy. I do not read Bukowski religiously, but I've read a fair amount of his poems and he reads most of my favorites here. And his "The Best Love Poem" may very well be the best love poem ever written. Excellent introduction to the world of Charles Bukowski. Enter ye those who dare.
