"Calabar, O Elogio Da Traição" is the original title of this album, a recording from 1973 of the songs of the musical play written by Chico Buarque and Ruy Guerra. Due to the censorship policy under the Brazilian military dictatorship, the original gatefold copies of this album were recalled right after release. The record was then immediately reissued as "Chico Canta" in a plain white sleeve with only the artist name and the company logo on its front, using nonetheless the same record labels (with the subtitle "Calabar, O Elogio da Traição"). Later the record was reissued with a picture of Chico Buarque on the cover (the labels no longer having the subtitle "Calabar, O Elogio da Traição"). Only in the CD reissues from 2010 on restore the original cover art.
