One day Christian Dörge famous gothic experimentalist decided to recruit "la creme de la creme" of the gothic movement in Germany to make this work.
Bruno Kramm (Das Ich frontman), Tilo Wolf (Lacrimosa creator), Oswald Henke (Goethes Erben mastermind) all of them famous on their own. An unholy trinity working for him to give form to his own ideas.
Well... The expectations were inmense and as usual in these kind of events, the results were pale bright.
The contribution from Bruno Kramm as remixer is regular and it only improves when Oswald Henke jumps with him. In fact the only well finished/crafted songs of the album are the ones made from them two. Tilo Wolf is a fart here, nothing solid comes from him except for his typical mid period lacrimosa's laments in harsh voice and his mindnumbing and spirit crushing mechanical drumkit. The lyrics are fine, after all the whole concept of the album is from Christian Dörge and it is a set for a modern opera with strong theatrical influences something that suites a lot more to Oswald Henke or Bruno Kramm style than to Tilo Wolf gothic soap operas.
The mood of the album is quite theatrical as you may expect, and the monologues and poetic declamations appears here and there, as usual the vocalization and excellent use of the german language gains a win with Oswald Henke's professionalism.
Certainly it is a dissapointment considering all the minds implied in here. This work could have been a musical diamond but unfortunately failed to become just a chrystal with good angles.
It's out of print now...no need to wonder why.
