Really fun reissue of the iconic album. The booklet is beautiful. The sound quality of the rehearsal tracks is quite good, complete with dialog. Essential!

Mine had "I Love Shawn" etched by someone over the matrix. When reading the insert comic. I saw it was signed "Shawn 80" just a coinkydink I guess

Black Flag (Flipside #22) ''There's a stolen song..(''I Don't Care'') It took us a lawyer to get credit on the album.. I heard Keith say ''I wrote that song'' he didn't write the song, and that's the reason it became an issue.'' Flipside- ''Hence the Circle Jerks record labels that were at the Starwood when the C.Jerks played. it had to be printed over''
I presume the earliest version would be one without Greg Ginn credit for the song noted above. ?

This was not released in 1980 but I don't know what year it did actually come out....

in high school i got this misprint version of group sex/ wild in the streets at a fair and was pumped about it, then got home and realized it only had group sex, i was disappointed at first, but was happy to have the far superior group sex album intact at least. a cool item though in which i still have.

You don't go to punk music for audiophile pressings and the double nickels on the dime recording approach to these albums greatly limits what can be done. The dynamic range here is sparse with Morris' biting vocals drastically limited to keep from peaking. Where other producers may have opted for a more acoustic approach, here his vocal is trimmed and kept in check.
In general though, none of this is new and is par for the course with this recording. Despite little gains in dynamic range, they still got away with some fun stereo placement of the various instrumental elements. Though the perceptible soundstage isn't wide, it is still very clear with each band member being distinctly placed from left to right in the soundstage.
Ultimately, it's a great and fantastic clean pressing. Where it lacks in soundstage depth it makes up for in stereo placement, still creating a unique vinyl listening experience that differs from the digital version.
