Though Clan of Xymox have been around for quite a while, their 80's material was more geared towards gothic synthpop/new wave a la Cure. On Farewell, they take it a step further, evolving in order to keep up with the sounds of electronic music today. The end result is a brilliant combination of gothic synthpop with EBM. Some of the tracks are more dancy and utilize both styles, while some are more downtempo and morose, returning the band to their 80's roots. One thing is for sure though: with a lot of catchy, emotion-ridden songs, this album is flat-out sexy!
