This album was my introduction to Clarence Carter back around 1974. His version of Sixty Minute Man is still my favorite ever recorded. I've tried since the early `80s to find a CD. Alas I recently discovered its only on vinyl. Not that this is a bad thing. I love & prefer vinyl for the sound quality. I find you need expensive equipment to make CDs listenable. I have such stuff & like the ease of use w. the CD format.
That said, if you're lucky enough to have a decent Turntable & hopefully a record cleaning machine of the expensive variety, this is an excellent set to have on LP. I'm finally going to buy the LP now that I know its still available.
There's not a bad track on this album as I remember. A powerful burst of soul awaits those who take the plunge w. this fairly obscure album,
Carter's voice was at it's peak when he cut this, & the back-up band, including a beautiful brass section, was every inch the equal of anything coming out of Mussel Shoals Alabama. Lovers of Classic Soul can't possibly be disappointed.
