Been a fan of Chris Clark's work since the early 2000s, but had stopped listening a couple albums ago (Totems Flare was his last solid release IMHO, though I am very interested in picking up his recent remix 4xLP). Very glad for this return to form, I would definitely place it next to "Body Riddle" in quality, cohesiveness and narrative arc. A beautiful album. A very good pairing with "Flame Rave" EP. Both are great to work to, headphones for sure.

Just picked up this LP as they were playing it in my local record store (Plan 9 / Richmond, VA) and liked what i heard. I've heard of Clark before but have not owned anything by him so glad to broaden my horizons as they say. The first LP starts off in a slightl Detroit vein which is nice and then I move to LP 2 and it goes more IDM with 'grit in the pearl' and into 'beacon' ending up with the side 3 highlight 'petroleum tinged'! This is absolutely beautiful but completely heartbreaking as its less than 2 minutes. Brings to mind great early 80's movie soundtracks. Clark could be a contender for that sequel to Blade Runner if it ever gets made. Finally on to side 4 'silvered iris' which brings the techno back into focus. Again another track that I wish would have been longer. The final 2 tracks are more in the ambient vein and are really nice. A bit of a strange album but i can see the progession that he had in mind when he ordered the tracks.
