don't get me wrong: i really love this record big tilme. But wat's with the sound quality? It sounds all so muffled? Is it a pressing flaw or simply the production? it's the repress i'm talking about. A1 is really unplayable

I've had Wyre Drive on repeat continually, letting auto-reverse briefly interrupt its dream-like vibe. This doesn't sound like 2012 to me; it sounds more like some of my favorite recordings on Irdial, like early In Sync or Thieving Dreamer. The opener establishes a serpentine analogue path and what follows veers along in thick, mechanical waves occasionally punctured by acid squelches or tranquil synths. Each piece is a slow and steady development of a gorgeous, heavy slab of ancient techno. Its a laconic release but what sounds do push forward really resonate and stick with you.
