I know the Ireland pressing of this album is apparently translucent when put up to light, but is it true with the UK pressing as well?

The very best of the Cocteau Twins releases in my opinion. I remember where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard it. I was 15, at my friend Kyle's house, and he put this on - apparently it was his brother's album. And it totally changed everything for a few years. A stunning album.

Undoubtly the masterpiece in the rich discography of Cocteau Twins. It's not pop or rock, it's not cold wave unlike the first albums (Garland and Head Over Head), it's something else, very smooth, so eerie. With Victorialand, Cocteau Twins creates a unique sound, often copied never equaled, with Robin Guthrie's cristalin guitar (what a splendor !) and the soprano voice of Liz Frazer, so far away between Oceans and Heaven. The first dream pop music. The most amazing music i have heard, plenty of sweetness, purity, "luxe, calme et volupté" like Baudelaire wrote in one of his poems.

Play the vinyl at 33 speed for a more rewarding ambient experience.
