Feck... some of the most amazing music I've heard...

I regret living in the shitehole of the world when they did their gig in Dublin in 2004 - it was so magical

I've yet to completely sort through this set, however I can say that it seems like a good effort by Christopherson to release a comprehensive Live Coil video set. However for the hefty price I will not be bashful to offer complaints as well. This is the first new DVD set i've seen in years featuring interlaced video. Not just encoded interlaced, but there are visible interlacing issues. The combing is unfortunately extremely distracting. The technical connoisseur can't help but wonder why the USB option, with properly deinterlaced video, featuring an efficient video format would not have been the better choice (in fact : to be blunt it would have, AND a lot cheaper, although that may be the point of Christopherson's choice :) Unfortunately, time will not be forgiving of this choice as DVD compression is heaped upon other forms of compression and people forget what DVDs are.

There have been many bootlegs floating about in certain circles, however it is nice to see a fuller collection. The final two discs in the set are a special treat : projections used in live shows accompanied by music, released under a Creative Commons license for free legal sharing. Archive.org now offers these final two discs for download : http://www.archive.org/details/CoilColourSoundOblivionDvd1516
