Conceptions 1995 is still an important release for Coinside despite the fact it was released well before this group gained much popularity. The sound is already in their typical style; dark and dramatic synth melodies combined with straight forward EBM-ish beats and ominous doom metal style vocals; it all mixes to create a powerful apocalyptic gothic sound. A couple of the weaker moments on this cassette suggest it's the groups first effort, but the elements and atmosphere are already there that tell what the group will develop on their future releases.

"Das Geschäft mit dem Tod" is a ominous piece with hard beat and Torsten Bessert's typical deep and ragged vocals, probably the hightlight of the release. "Endlich" and "The System" are a bit more upbeat and full of percussion; the first has Torsten doing vocals again, while the latter has Sven jump in also with his typical screaming voice. "Mein Bester Freund" is more of the same. "Unsere Stadt" is probably the releases weakest moment with a silly melody and annoyingly monotonous beat. "Adrenalin Rush" is a cover of the Leather Strip song of the same name.

This music was done long before Sven Bussler would perfect his Coinside-style on
"Negator", and is worlds away from his martial neoclassical Greyland sound. All 6 tracks run a pretty straight course and clearly draws from 1980's industrial and electro influences. A solid debut but almost impossible to find on cassette, look for the 1999 retrospective CD "Einst und Heut" which offers the first 4 tracks.
