Music from the Belly for Dancing Ears
by Jochen HAMPL

TELFS. "Baoingo", so is the first work of the Tyrolean Ethno Jazz Band "Comin‘ and Goin', which was published as a CD with the music label Polyglobe Music. The sextet took all nine self-composed instrumentals live on concerts in Innsbruck‘s “Treibhaus”. The music of "Comin‘ and Goin' aims to meditation and spirituality. As a basis for this serve didgeridoo, changgo, berimbau and bass. In a modal sense for that function electric guitar, saxophone and a distinctive sitar playing. The rhythms swing partially in unusual five- and ten-beat-cycles. By shuffle jazz elements remains the music in the belly and open to dancing ears. The arrangements reminiscent concoctions of Jan Garbarek, Codona and Pat Metheny with a typical shot "Innsbruck School". Baoingo is another section Tyrolean phonogram culture and has an album entirely valid.
