"Final Chapter" contains samples of "James Brown - The Payback" (1973) and "Late Night Hype" is based on samples of "Anita Baker - Will You Be Mine" (1983) and "Rick James - Mary Jane" (1978).

Be very careful with this album on vinyl. There's two versions, Clean and Explicit. The Clean version features the song "We Made It" while the explicit version features "Rhymes Too Funky Pt.1" and "Give It Up" and it has "One Time Gaffeled Em Up" as the first track on the A side like it shows in the images. Unfortunately I got the clean version that has annoying censoring sound effects and different lyrics. Ask the seller what they have before you purchase.

Some of the tracks are also clean versions exclusive to this issue.

The album that started out CMW and launched MC Eiht onto the rap scene. This is one of the best albums to come out of Compton. This takes me way back, and this is a lot better than NWA's "Straight Outta Compton". The beats are killer on this album and MC Eiht and Slip kill it lyrically. Best song is "I Give Up Nuthin". Classic album and the first we ever heard from CMW. For a first album this almost beats most groups albums throughout their whole careers.

Back in the late 1980's when this crew first arrived on the scene, They were compared to NWA and seen as another wannabe crew.

This was very far from the case, Their first three albums are classic, with very dope production that stands up today and MC Eiht and The Chill One were incredible together.

CMW believed in their craft and you could tell by their beats and rhyme styles that they grew up in an age of true and real MC's, where dues had to be paid, beef wasn't for record sales and skill was important.

CMW never glorified the gangster lifestyle, they talked about it a lot as it was a way of life and not a gimmick to sell records.

I was going to break down each track, but honestly there isn't a bad on this album, there is a special sound to this album and I personally think any true rap fan should own this album.

This album is a classic one. MC Eiht and Tha Chill are telling us tales from the hood with great lyrics. There is also a very nice using of samples with The Unknown DJ on the Turntables on this album which makes it even better than it already is.

Oh Boy, when this came out I was 13 or 14 years of age, and I was germanys biggest CMW fan. To me, this one is even more classic Compton shit than "Straight outta Compton" from NWA. Too bad Chill left the group, the combination of him an Eiht was great. I still get goose skin when I listen to the first track of this album ("but the homie who ran, hmm, one times gaffled him up...), there´s no way I can listen to this song at a moderate volume!! Childhood memories...
