Not a place to start, If you like them. Their first albums are great , you can compare them to the Sound. Some Good tracks here indeed, but this is more pop. I remember I found this album in the bargain bin (on sale)

I agree with Kwest, the only point I disagree on is that the first three albums are classics (!). Fiction has too many brilliant and iconic tracks for it not be on the same pinnacle - Ju-Ju Money, Pictures, Now I know . . . love it.
It was nice to get this record out and play it again.

The first of the Comsat's two releases for Jive takes a lighter more synth driven approach, understandably the band could never top the classic first two albums. There are, however some class songs in the set such as the stirring synth pop of "Will You Stay Tonight" the rousing electro-funk of "A World Away" the poignant atmospheric wash of "Nature Trails" the plaintive bass driven closer "As Above So Below" and the stirring shipwrecked love imagery within the song writing of "Island Heart", a classic album and a must for fans of obscure alternative 1980's and new wave.

December 31, 2019The b-sides are wonderful, save for maybe Intelligence (but even that will grow on you).
