From the start of their 'Virtual-Physical Jam-sessions' that started in January 2000 in Belgrade it wasn't long before they signed with Cosmic Sounds (April) and recorded this LP live on 7.5.00 in Klub Doma. All but three of the tracks are their arrangements of well-known jazzmen's tunes, such as, Nat Adderley, Horace Silver and Sonny Stitt. A4, B1 & B2 are their own compositions. All work well with that Eastern European quirkiness of DJ and live sax, guitar, vibes and muted crowd applause. Some might think the ‘scratching’ sounds dated now but to my way of thinking it’s ‘authentic’ of its time [of recording] even though some of the original tunes where written before Dusan and Boris were born. ‘Contemplation’ (A4) also includes some live dub-bass work and it’s as close to nu-modal as you can get. Who’s the anorak that can name the DJ’s first record after the set finishes?
