Joyrider is a proper oldschool anthem, very uniquely UK.

Where else would you get vocal samples such as "Joyriders, like yourselves, like I used to be"?

Clearly the sample was taken from an ex-joyrider. For those who don't know, joyriding was a pastime in the UK in the late 80's - early 90's where youths would steal cars, race them along residential streets then burn them so the police could not identify fingerprints.

Fucking mental.

Musically, it's ruff breaks and hands-in-the-air riffs with plenty of obligatory scratching & reggae samples.

It still sounds dangerous & exciting today.

I have never condoned joyriding, it has cost many lives (a lot of which were innocent bystanders), but the vocal sample just adds that extra edge to the track.
