CZAR - CZAR (Fingerprint CDCR 2171) CD 48m
One of those obscure and much lauded psychedelic era collectibles, Czar in fact made one of the most majestic and richly crafted of progressive rock albums. A step beyond the Moody Blues, with a majestic style bolstered by thick wedges of Mellotron and strong multi-vocal harmony songs, a style that rubbed off on innumerable Vertigo and Neon bands, the Gracious! feel at times is uncanny. The opening tracks: Tread Softly On My Dreams and Cecelia are in fact some of the strongest most emotionally charged rock music I've heard. Though, the whole album is quite remarkable, though not the whole CD, as the bonus single should really have been forgotten about!
