"D & M" is an alias for Donny and Marie Osmond, who tried their hand at a disco record but knew it would not be well received if people knew it was them, thus the alias D & M. Give Donny and Marie credit for genuinely trying to adapt to a new and very hot music genre and for being willing to "check their egos at the door" and adopt an alias so people would evaluate the record on its musical merits, not on the artist. There were many established artists from other genres that did top-quality disco/soul/funk records in the 1970s to early-1980s. "On The Shelf" by Donny and Marie Osmond is NOT one of them. This is another low quality disco "formula" record that does not make the grade. Limited collector value just for the fact that is was pressed by collectors who are not selective and/or are obsessed with collecting just about anything that was pressed just so they can say "I have it", and/or DJs who might be able to use pieces of this record for their edits. It might have some appeal to a "cruise ship" crowd. From start-to-finish, this is record is GARBAGE.
