"Renegades Of Acid Trance"!!!!!!

I've had this tune on a live mixtape for over 15 years, yet I never managed to find out what it was called... until now.

I love this site.

Or, should I say, my bank account HATES this site, because I'm just going to HAVE to buy this one now!! lol :)

This rare release features an utterly bombing pair of tunes.

First, we encounter the chugging "Face the Speaker," which actually starts off relatively low-key. Still, the track offers a hint of the twisted acid work that lies ahead. Then, at about 1:45, the track kicks into a new gear, and you begin to get a sense of the serious madness that will follow. At roughly 3:00, the tune truly takes off, adding degrees of intensity and withering acid work as it chugs along. Then, for a brief moment, the track breaks down into minimal components, only to then burst to life suddenly and dramatically in all its acidic glory. Fucking hell, 5/5.

On the flip-side, we find "Renegades of Acid Trance," which is indeed sort of a hybrid between driving acid trance and typical SUF-style acid techno. This one hits the ground running; seriously, I think it's a great set-opener. Anyway, "driving" is the key word for me with this track, as it's sort of an energetic acid-techno workout. The track contains a bit of dissonance, even melancholy, especially during the breakdowns---which I definitely enjoy. Brilliant track, 5/5.

Unfortunately, you'll no doubt have to drop a pretty penny to snag this release, but within reason, I say go for it. The tracks are just too good not to have on vinyl.

I have to agree with Idma666 that this release is a gem. Both sides are excellent and I'm just glad I bought a copy all those years ago.

This obscure Acid Techno release on a UK branch of US based Amnesia, is a true gem. Renegades is a classic squawker, in that trademark warm but agressive London style, while Face the Speaker is a darker rumbling bassline track with less 303, but again it's warm and most definitely dancable.

A peaktime slice of late 90's London squat party vibage.
