This is hands down one of the most dynamic recordings I own! If you are familiar with the album then you know it's phenomenal. I have never heard it sound better! Beautiful tan marbled records, one of the best VMP has done!

Be aware of the white vinyl reissue... it's incredibly noisy! Ouch!
Even with the record being ridiculously noisy, it's still an amazing piece of recorded history.

Anyone know how this white pressing sounds? I see it's restocked in some places and wonder if it's worth picking up for $35.

Anyone else's pressing seem pretty staticy/crackly throughout? More pronounced specifically on A1 & B2? Cleaning it did not provide any relief.

What a great album( overall rank 613 best ever albums). And what a nice pressing, quality is very good, low surface noise, great dynamics! D’Angelo’s neo-soul masterpiece is remembered not only for the indelible mark it left on R&B but also the impossible story behind bringing the album into existence. Released on 25 January 2000, just one month into the new millennium, Voodoo would define the decade, setting the bar so high with its ingenuity and progressiveness that wouldn’t be met until D’Angelo returned 14 years later with Black Messiah.

Wikipedia:
Voodoo is the second studio album by American neo soul singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist D'Angelo. It was released on January 25, 2000, by Virgin Records.

D'Angelo recorded the album during 1998 and 1999 at Electric Lady Studios in New York City, with an extensive line-up of musicians associated with the Soulquarians musical collective. Produced primarily by the singer, Voodoo features a loose, groove-based funk sound and serves as a departure from the more conventional song structure of his debut album, Brown Sugar (1995). Its lyrics explore themes of spirituality, love, sexuality, growth, and fatherhood.

Following heavy promotion and public anticipation, the album was met with commercial and critical success. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling 320,000 copies in its first week, and spent 33 weeks on the chart. It was promoted with five singles, including the hit single "Untitled (How Does It Feel)", whose music video garnered D'Angelo mainstream attention and controversy. Upon its release, Voodoo received general acclaim from music critics and earned D'Angelo several accolades. It was named one of the year's best albums by numerous publications.

D'Angelo promoted Voodoo with an international supporting tour in late 2000. While successful early on, the tour became plagued by concert cancellations and D'Angelo's personal frustrations. Voodoo has since been regarded by music writers as a creative milestone of the neo soul genre during its apex. It has sold over 1.7 million copies in the United States and has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

My copy has C/D labels for both LPs. Anybody else’s like this?

I noticed nobody’s talked about how this original pressing sounds so I’ll say what I think! To me, the original cut seems more intentionally cut like a hip hop LP. The mastering is very bass focused, but the cut is still clear and there’s good natural details in the highs.
The light in the attic remaster is much more natural sounding, but this original cut feels more like the original intention of the record. It’s not perfectly balanced and hifi, but thats not necessarily what a record like this should sound like! It’s entirely up to personal taste and how you want the album to sound.

Typical Light in the Attic/Rainbo junk. Two sides are off-center and side one has some weird damage along the rim that I pretty much have to set the needle down at the start of the song. For a company that likes to promote itself as being a purveyor of quality items, LITA sure does have a lot of off-center product.
