Nearly once as the rave hard trance scene died the self-gratifying hardstyle age began. Tracks like ‘The Human Form’ best express this era of hard trance where the dark overtakes the uplifting. Similar to DJ Darkzone’s previous single, ‘Watching You,’ the song begins with a deep monologue over steady bass. Instantly there’s that sense of anthem material – yes, this track does make a perfect set opener. Gradually the track builds into a floor destroying first section featuring brief acid pads functioning as a sort of sub-bass or something like that. Enter the breakdown of no light only sound; another wicked monologue is inserted here before a taste of the hook becomes revealed. Finally we get what we’ve been longing for. The gravelly male voice beckons the song title followed by a mad kick pattern leading to gates of hell. Every sound, every effect contributes to making the horrendously sinister main theme. The process repeats only with new vocals and a shortened breakdown that receives a freestyle drum pattern even further separating the song from masses. Another bloody wicked drop emulates the first – thank God. Sadly there is no other mix available on the record. The Non Vocal is completely meaningless as the words add heaps of darkness to an already menacing song. Other than the throwaway b-side this is a must-have for early hardstyle / millennial hard trance junkies. Buy it in the Mega-Maxi Package for the ultimate DJ Darkzone experience.

A personal classic from back in the day. Hardtrance started to become harder by every release, which finally resulted in what we now know as "early hardstyle" This was one of the key releases that took me on a musical journey back in time, and beyond.

It's a very clear and straight forward track, dark and hard with a really nice build up to the climax. Love this track every time i hear it!
