Turntablist and producer DJ Krush worldwide can be seen as Japanese hiphopvisitekaartje. Since its debut in 1994 are Strictly Turntablized (largely) instrumental hiphopwerk cheering within extracted by hiphopliefhebbers. This led in the past to very successful collaborations with, among others. Guru and CL Smooth. Also renowned jazz artists as Herbie Hancock, Ronny Jordan and the celebrated Japanese jazz diva Monday Michiru were charmed by his dry but effective beats. Meanwhile, the sound of DJ Krush has grown in the experimental and certainly also the industrial. The Message At The Depth start turning at full speed as if it were on a industrial estate. The heat that we of his earlier work are used to, will be added later. The cd ends, compared with the beginning, remarkably accessible. Especially the last four songs, with cooperation with dubpioniers Sly & Robbie and singer Angelina Esparza stand in stark contrast to the ingenious programmed beats that The Message At The Depth opens. But that this portrait of the versatility of DJ Krush.
