Industry mogul Phil Cheeseman’s Essence label goes from strength-to-strength with his latest release from DJ Pierre & Marshall Jefferson. Based on Chic’s ‘70s disco nugget of the same name, and now featuring the voice of Janine Cross, this is a great pastiche of old skool Chicago in a soundclash with funky kitschness; best served with the discotastic Smokin' Beats workouts whose funk is chewier and more fun, employing tuneful rhythms with Cross’ uplifting cries for dancefloor unity.
