Notes

This is vaguely an instrumental version of "The Weather", originally featuring vocals of Busdriver and Radioinactive. But the instrumental tracks, originally produced by Daedelus, are now re-worked / re-tweaked / remixed into a new album.

Before finding a home on Ninja Tune, Daedelus bounced around on some of the United States' best independent electronic labels. RETHINKING THE WEATHER, his debut for Mush, takes out most of the lyrics from THE WEATHER and recrafts the tracks. So even as "Fin" fills out the sonic background, while romantic Japanese pop filters into "Going Unsteady." Perkiness and filtered beats meld together on "Greatly Exaggerated, Our Demise"; he's must be a dedicated crate-digger to come up with some of the samples sprinkled throughout the album. "Dark Days" sounds anything but, and the whistling and piano in "Bright Stars" gives that track a lovely dreaminess. Sometimes the samples don't quite cohere, as on "Name Game," but the hits are greater than the misses.
