Oh crap my Daft Club card expired December 2002 and I forgot to renew it! Anyway, great pressing, no hissing issues on this original pressing. Super quiet pressing - maybe a bit bassy but otherwise perfect.

To me this is one of those quintessential must-have albums. Basically it boils down to this: anyone who claims to be a music aficionado has a MORAL OBLIGATION to have this album in his or her record collection.

One cannot talk about recent music history without mentioning Daft Punk. Where I would describe their debut album 'Homework' as innovative, genre-defining, perhaps even ground breaking, 'Discovery' to me, is an organic evolution of this early sound. Everything is a bit more polished, elaborated and detailed.

The fun these two friends had while making this album really shows. It pours down to every song and I think this playfulness speaks to an extremely broad audience. I for one, know very few people who will deny that nearly every piece of music on this record is straight gold.

On top of that the mastering and the quality of the pressing are both truly excellent as well, resulting in a very clean sound. The gatefold sleeve too leaves nothing to be desired, it's thick, sturdy and well-printed. The proverbial cherries on the cake here come in the shape of two quality printed inner sleeves, which perfectly lend themselves to be mounted to your wall using one of those Gladsax frames from your favourite Swedish store.

This one gets 5 stars, obviously.

Best Daft Punk Album Hands Down! Not only does it have all the house elements but it also has plenty of downtime jams on it as well! From start to finish it has everything you'll desire from Guy and Thomas! Now Spin!

In my opinion, this is simply one the greatest house albums of all times. everyone who complains about "daft punk went mainstream" probably only listened to the imo terrible "one more time" and stopped listening. but there are 13 (!) more tracks on this masterpiece to discover! i loved "homework", but dare i say it sounds just a little dated to me nowadays, while "discovery" stands out for me as the peak of daft punk's career.

When i wanted to choose tracks from "discovery" for a long house set, i had serious problems to limitate because there were at least 4 tracks i really felt i should play (harder..., short circuit, face to face, too long).

"Too long" with the beautiful voice of romanthony sounds to me like a modern version of his classic "wanderer" with beat.

i really felt in love with this magical album, no matter if it is for club-use or home listening...
