A vinyl issue of this would be very cool. Anyone know if that's a possibility?

Daft Punk are an artist that have left their music largely untouched by the ugly trend of heavy handed dynamic compression that's plagued so many releases over the last 20 years, but unfortunately this compilation breaks the mold and goes full retard on dynamic range compression. Most releases are hitting DR8 on CD and substantially more on vinyl, DR12 to DR13. Legacy Reconfigured scores an ugly DR5, with not one track exceeding DR6. Perhaps some of the artists involved baked these levels of compression into their mixes before sending them to BGM for mastering the compilation?

It includes a variety of styles, and the remixes are well-done and well-crafted. There isn't really an exceptionally weak remix, and I really liked the Crystal Method and Boys Noize remixes in particular. Replayability is not exactly all that great. It's amusing to see what people have done with the TRON: Legacy at first, but ultimately you realize its all rehashed electro house music.

Just so people know. This is a "remix" album. The problem some people have with flow is invalid for this album. This is a collection of remixes. Not a studio album. With that aside. I find the album one of the best. Let's face it, the artists in this compilation didn't have too much to work with. With that in mind, most of them did a great job of molding these tracks with their own style giving us the house music we hoped for from the movie. In particular: M83 vs. Big Black Delta, The Glitch Mob, Com Truise (though it's one of the dumbest names ever), and Boys Noize. The weakest was the one that changed the least from the original, namely Moby. Nothing to hate from this album. A great listen. 4.5/5

Like most remix compilations, the mixes here aren't all consistently great, but the ones that work do so extremely well. While the mixes coming in from established heavyweights Crystal Method, Moby, Avicii, Japanese Popstars, Sander Kleinenberg and Paul Oakenfold add fantastic energy and club appeal to compliment Daft Punk's orchestral framework, it is Kaskade who really rises to the occasion with his simply massive re-working of "Rinzler". Complete with a tension-building intro and a perfectly timed drop, this should have massive appeal for big room DJs looking to create some dramatic moments in their set.

While some mixes sadly fall into the "Daft Club" category in terms of quality, notably Photek's rather uninspired mix of "End of the Line", one of the best cuts from the original score, this disc should be considered essential for any die-hard fan longing for some club-worthy Daft Punk-related material and for DJs who have been looking for ways to incorporate selections from the original score into their sets.
