A well-put-together techno EP with crisp production and a healthy amount of attention paid to track development and arrangement.

The first track on the A-side, "Shockwave", is, with its circular two-beat bassline, aimed a little too squarely at the loop-driven dancefloors for my tastes, but the following track, "Steamroller", is much more interesting, with chord stabs jumping away from the central rhythm and slowly morphing throughout the track.

The B1 cut, "De-mo", is the highlight of the EP. The drum programming is less straightforward, with an almost breakbeat-y feel to it (although this by no means reduces its usefulness in a techno set - think "Zeno Xero" on Red 1), and the gradual emergence of the main chord pattern is very well handled. The final track, "Stroller", has quite a summery feel to it, with playful, colourful chords and a lower tempo than the rest of the tracks on the record.
