Lagoon...ahh didn't do much for me, given some of the reviews here about it. The one I liked the most was Abyss. Class track.

Another early one on his own label Rotation. Dave Angels' Detroit influence was clearly evident from the start. This one is a bit more mature than others similar the year before. While Shallow Waters I easily can forget being one of his weakest tracks. Hold up. Lagoon starts. Right up there with the most favorite Angel songs by people who like Angel. Good memories. Jellyfish is a bit more loopy and almost verging on a tech house sound. Abyss is surprisingly my favorite on the record. Very busy and clean production. Melody is epic and sparse over a highly technical and intense sounding field of cohesive electronics. Definitely a repeat listen will have to while its on the platter...

Lagoon is quite possibly one of the most inspiring, simply beautiful melodies i have ever heard in a techno record. Dave Angel at his soulful best. Soothing, Detroit-inspired sounds and lots of layers. This is without a doubt one of my favourite techno records of all-time.

Lagoon was also included in Dave Angel's "Beyond the Heavens" mix for the X-Mix series (highly recommended). If you like some of Angel's other melodic tunes, such as "Original Man" and "Life's Little Pleasures", this is a record you'll likely also find quite enjoyable.

Lagoon has to be one of my favourite dance tracks ever! A true classic, it combines uplifting ambient melodies with house beats for a great funky, soulful sound, nice....
