Magnificent and deeply Beautiful, this wonderful debut of Dave Valentine shows most of his talent with his flute, playing nice jazz fusion tunes: he plays so smoothly here that is hard to accept him as the powerful flute-man that he becomed later (Mainly in his collaborations with latin musicians such as the King Puente)...
But let's get to the point: this is great stuff. There are super sweet songs (In the title track Valentine shows all his writing skills), great pop covers ("I Want To Be Where You Are", "Masquerade") and jazz or latin covers, too (the great "Afro Blue", the DIVINE "Crystal Silence"; Be really serious about this one, because it brings back to heaven that Chick Corea song into a fully shorter version that even sounds better than the original one, i'm not kidding), with excelent accompaniment: great latin-like guitars, keyboards, latin percussion and even strings sometimes.
Dig into this great record only if you know the man, or you are experienced with the Latin music, the Jazz, and... the New Age: this last point because the music is ultra smooth and quiet. It can put you gently to relax for a while. And that's exactly why this 70's release is really interesting.
