David Bowie ‎– Changes

Genre:
Style:

Year:
Notes:
David Bowie's first RCA 45, both tracks taken from the album David Bowie - Hunky Dory.

The timing of Changes is incorrectly listed on this, and most RCA releases it appears on, as 2:32. It is approximately 3:34.

On some editions, including the UK editions, the approximately 50 second spoken introduction and transitional music for Andy Warhol is included, though the labels incorrectly indicate the 3:03 length of the US 45, which is the timing post introduction.

I managed to find this for my mam at a carboot sale, she was very happy with it. She says she really likes how David Bowie looks on the front, like he is trying to grapple with a really hard maths sum or work out how to operate a complicated microwave.

sorry but this is not a 40th anniversary picture disc, it's only a picture disc for the record store day 2015

Overall, this pressing isn't great, but it's not too bad either. Some minor surface noise and some stray pops in the quiet segments. Popping during the loud parts on side A, but not awful (bigger grooves, more space for dust to get in?). Picture discs are really more to be looked at, and not played, so this serves it's purpose.
The package isn't great, it had some general guff on it in the store when I got it, and to open it, you need to slice the sticker on top, which will probably give collectors a migraine.

Is this version of Eight Line Poem available anywhere else? I can't find any other releases that have this "GEM Promo Version"

Nevermind, it's on the Bombers promo.

According to Bowie's facebook page there are 15000 of it. So grab it while you can it's very rare...
It looks great and I'm glad I could get it this year but to call it limited is ridiculous

What a waste a low fi picture disc wrong label and not a sought-after track was a massive massive seller both as a picture Sleeved RCA Maxi-Single and a later B side,

Now had this been The Laughing Gnome in its glorious Stereo mix on a retro dinked 4-pin Optional centre pressing then yeah that would be a massive seller, I dont get this at all

Can't wait for most of these to be sent to the "independent" shops like Amoeba, and leave the actual independent shops out in the dust.
