David Morley is one of the few artists in the electronic music scene who is really skilled at playing modular synths. This EP is a perfect example of that. I think the tag "ambient" isn't entirely correct as 3 of the 4 tracks contain very complex beats. But it's the combination of those complex beats/breaks and the haunting beautiful synth melodies that makes this EP so beautiful.

My personal favorite on Stardancer is "Buchla Baby". It has a very complex beat and there are these bleepy sounds added that remain throughout the whole track, it sounds very minimalistic and vague. But once the haunting melody comes in the track explodes and becomes irresistable and overwhelming. It nearly had me in tears the first time I heard it. But when listening to this EP I can only conclude that aside from Buchla Baby being the stand out track, there is no lack of quality in the other tracks neither.

The most ambient orientated track must be "Frozen" which doesn't have a beat (it has a sort of bass tho)and is a beautiful piece of typical melodious 90s chill out music. If I had to describe this EP in one worth I would say this is "heavenly". A 5-star release.

Just beautiful music. Really. Something very special.

When I first heard this record in the store, I was overwhelmed. I'm pretty sure I played every track all the way through once, and Stardancer twice. Frozen is also a beautiful piece of music.

I was happy to find a mint copy and guard it carefully. One of the best things I own.
