I've cleaned mine a few times with my Hannl RCM-- it's a generally quiet pressing. Decent mastering-- definitely not from the CD master but it does have that 1980's something or another that I generally don't like, but only a bit. Overall this is the best sounding version I've yet heard-- I have the original CD release.

The remastering sounds great and the artwork is beautiful, unfortunately the record itself appears to be riddled with surface noise and pressing artifacts, which is really disappointing considering how open and minimal the music is. As soon as i dropped the needle on the start of the record I heard static and pressing issues. I also listened to the last track "Waterfront" and there was clearly audible surface noise throughout which at times was competing with the music for my attention, especially at the end of the song, with the same noise continuing into the center of the record after the music ends, so it's clearly not an issue of the source material. I'd love to hear if anyone else has experienced this with their copy.

It says in the inner sleeve "Digitally Re-mastered by Tony Cousins at Metropolis Mastering, London. 2003"

Who cares that this is the first time it's been pressed on 180gm vinyl and includes "enhanced artwork"?! The record's weight is no indication of how much attention and detail (or lack of) have gone into the mastering. Until someone can confirm that this pressing has been given the respect it demands, I'd recommend staying well clear of this release and buy an original copy instead.
