Much the same as Imperial Propaganda although not as good, (Imperial prop was saved by the track "Closer to God")
Purist doesn't really build up to anything really juicy. This type of techno bores the living shit out of me, for starters the beat patterns in Purist are dreadfully monotonous & have about as much force and energy as a someone is the last stages of a terminal illness!!! and the dreamy sounds that come in at the 1.35 mark are fucking shit!!!! what the fuck is with all these shitty dreamy sounds i am hearing in techno these days, where has the bang gone!!also this has been listed as techno/acid, well the acid in Purist is minimal, cough and you would miss it but then again you ain't missing much, as a lover of over the top orgasmic 90's acid sounds the acid on this is dispiriting, on a positive note i do like Dax J'S use of percussion but again he is using the same formula as Imperial Prop!!!!.
Understate is probably the best track off this EP, a good hard driving techno bomb that keeps the energy up for the duration of the track, only problem is the repeated annoying vocal snippet!!!!
Warp starts off promising enough but loses steam around 1.45 with the introduction of more shitty dreamy sounds!!!!
Slip from Sanity is pointless filler and adds nothing to this 12'' so all in all i find this to be very average, 3/5 at the most.
