without recording them and comparing waveforms, this pressing sounds the same to my naked ears as the '77 Sterling/Winchester first pressing (minus the crackle and pops that my first pressing has picked up over the years). which is to say that it sounds GREAT...loud and punchy, whereas every other copy i've heard (imports and the previous Rhino 180g reissue) is a little quieter and flatter. shockingly good for a modern vinyl reissue, especially one on transparent color vinyl.

Concur with Sonic_Reducer_99 and the MEllODrOnE thread below...through my system I'm surprised how good this sounds for a reissue and a transparent green version at that. I think it cleanly translates the sonics of the original recording which was raw and "lo-fi" to begin with; seems to be well pressed with accuracy to source.

Quality doesn't sound that great to me. Having to enter 10 words is stupid.

Sounds great, quiet as a mouse (as in pretty much no surface noise)! The green vinyl looks pretty too.. Not to mention this album is a stone cold classic overall.
