Manufactured in England

1st pressing shows the original band photo on the back cover.
Later pressings show the band photo again, but with the heads cut off or just the note "Stay tuned for further details" instead.

Some copies came with a b&w foldout poster and/or a Cherry Red Records 'catalogue' printed inner sleeve.

2nd pressing still has band heads showing on back cover, but 'Kill The Poor' also listed under 'Also Available', and run-out groove etching reads 'Do you deserve to live' instead of 'Well who are the brain police ???'

Some first pressings have matrix inscription "Do you deserve to live??" and no response to "Is life as boring as you are??".

Barcode and Other Identifiers

  • Matrix / Runout (Side A etched runout): B RED-10-A-2 IS LIFE AS BORING AS YOU ARE? MAYBE max Lyn-8664-2U A PORKY PRIME CUT

My copy has the extra insert of as well as its side 2 runout (LYN 8665 3TH), but the side 1 runout is the B RED-10-A IS LIFE AS BORING AS YOU ARE? MAX Lyn-8664-2U A PORKY PRIME CUT. like

I suppose they used an old plate for side 1?

It does have the standard poster, also.

A good document of the times ... A group that made most of the UK punk bands at the time seem a bit 'predictable','tame','humourless','irrelevant' ??- though many preferred the 7" versions of 'Cambodia & 'Uber Alles...i think it's a better record than the hardcore 'In God We Trust inc'- but not as good as 'Plastic Surgery Disasters'??
Tracks off tape ...'West Runton -'Sat- 11/10/1980'. (support band -UK Decay)
(a side).Man with the Dogs
When ya get drafted
Stealing people's mail
Kill the poor
Funland at the beach
California Uber Alles
(B side) Police truck
Bleed for me
Too drunk to F**k
Holiday in Cambodia..

I have a mail order flyer for Dead Kennedys Live VHS "The Video" from the UK in my second pressing.

The real first pressing runs a bit too fast (about 10 - 15%). Subsequent pressing do not. Who observed his pressing to run too fast?

I am looking for only a sleeve for the VIRUS 1 LP. I have the record in great condition but the cover is completely torn and damaged. If anyone has just the sleeve/cover for sale please let me know. Any inners/inserts included would be great.

On my vinyl and cover everything looks like on 1st press UK, but there's no runout etchings on either sides,
Is it 1st press UK or something unofficial?

On my version of this issue the "ARE" of the Side B runout is underlined - although only from the middle of the A to the start of the E. Is that true on yours?

without doubt should be in everyone's top 10 punk albums of all time

Hi, I have a B RED 10 release with a foldout black and white poster which, here, it states something about virgin music publishing where as mine says, ' manufactured in England by couchsound LTD' . I have yet to see any mention of this. I'm fairly sure it's a first pressing, is this information significant in any way ?
