"Nature and technology, industry and ecology, these concepts need not continue forever in conflict. For as long as they stay separate, the children will remain orphaned." - Dean De Benedictis

This album is a powerful and seamless celebration of sound, both synthesized and instrumental. As the title suggests it represents an exploration and rediscovery of roots, both culturally and historically. From bottles to clay drums, strings and voice, the humanity of the work is inextricably woven into a tapestry of sweeping ambient soundscapes. There is great emotion and depth to be had in new media and electronic music. For those new to the genre--this is the album to begin your journey. And seasoned purists--the soundtrack to accompany it further.

Some performances of note: Peter Ludwig on cello for "Memories Echo Far Ablaze in the Valleys", and Nels Cline on acoustic and electric guitar for "Same Drone, Different Story".
