doctor_trance is being kind. The remixes on this 12" are truly horrible. One of the better DM songs of recent years and they've butchered it.

Waste of time, money and anything else you can think of.

Unnecessary attempt at covering the deep house genre with this single.
Amtrac (Caleb Cornett) turns one of the 'darker' songs of the album, into a bouncy "lets go to the club" type mix, by trashing (ie. not using at all) all parts of the original mix, and trying to "re-invent" the song. Sadly, in the process everything went wrong.
He took Gahan's vocal, and used it as disposable filler for his own generic, lifeless "deep house" track. Sped up and down, it sounds as if he was hopped up on N20 when he worked with the vocal.
The melody used for the track sounds like something straight out of FL Studio's riff machine. It seems Mr. Cornett accepted and actually embraced being uncreative. Add some reverb and use.
There isn't much that can be said of the drums used, he decided it was best to use whatever he had in hand and just go from there. Unfortunately, the drums are equally dull and generic, even using a crash cymbal in a 4/4 fashion... clearly, he needs someone to send him a sample pack, or better, teach him how to use a drum machine.
So far we have about half of the track. What might be missing, you say? Well, lets not forget we're trying out to turn a very influential band's song into a deep house filler, so we need pianos of course! Bake in some chords, and presto!
Your 45-minute hackjob was approved! Now you can very proudly say you've remixed Depeche Mode. Congratulations! (not)

The result? Something that you have to hear thrice to confirm it is indeed a remix of a Depeche Mode track. Do I recommend doing it? Not at all.

One of the few Depeche Mode 12" singles I won't be buying, as the two best remixes of this song are found on the CD maxi single only: the Little Vampire and he MAPS. The ones found on this vinyl single just aren't as good.
