Even more than 23 years later this record sounds fresh. Breakbeat combined with some movie dialogues and noises is a tremendous and innovative recipe.
"Shaolin Buddha Finger" and "Bounty Killers II" are real choons. Shame that this is not longer.
As time flies by, it is more and more important to keep vinyl alive. As far as I'm concerned, I have not enough money and place yet, therefore I trust with CDs for now.
An essential album from the nineties. Let's go Jackie Chan !

can't believe this is nearly 20 years old. A masterpiece LP that doesn't really get any of the recognition it deserves. To me this is a pure hip hop album you can keep the rest of the styles. JSK was way ahead of his time. Perfect.

Nine of the dirtiest baddiest tracks either compiled together by the genious that is J Saul Kane. Great samples and deliberate rough production. Probably the most underated producer of his time, overlooked by many when the trip scene exploded into the public domain.

An amazing album that still sounds fresh. The breaks sound as fat as the day they were squeezed and no-one else uses samples with the panache of the legendary JSK. One of the albums i return to if i can't work out what i want to listen to, along with Unknown Territory by Bomb The Bass. One for football loving vampire cowboy ninjas everywhere.

J Saul Kane expanded upon his earlier work (under the moniker Eon) by mixing together breakbeat, dub and house with samples from movie soundtracks. He also formed a company to distribute Hong Kong kung fu flicks in the UK! The result was a unique style which has now been copied by many.

This album collects some of the best early Depth Charge tracks together. Sublimely mad breakbeat tunes such as 'Shaloin Buddha Finger' sit alongside virtual dub plates such as 'Dead By Dawn'. The choice of movie samples (Sergio Leone westerns, kung fu flicks, Sam Raimis 'Evil Dead') all conspire to produce a rollicking, atmospheric album which absolutely does not dissapoint.
