My definitive(-ish) guide to the original, mid-late '80s mixes and versions:

1. The original 7" - 4:21; sparsest drum arrangement
2. The original 12" [a.k.a 'extended version'] - 6:40; minor key opening
3. Britmix 7" [a.k.a. 'remix'] - 4:22, UK re-release from 1988; edit of the longer remix by Pete Hammond
4. Britmix 12" [a.k.a. 'Britmix'] - 7:03, UK re-release from 1988; full remix by Pete Hammond
5. Euro Remix Remix - 6:15, remix by Steve Prestage, available both separately and on the Britmix 12"

I read this brilliant comment by someone on the internet - "Incredible how several minutes of sound can grant you an eternal life."

Cannot tell about Desireless' whole album 'François'; it is a respectable collection of spiritually invoked pop songs, but altogether a bit too naive (not to say weak), whose fortunes are mostly due to three impressive singles - 'John', 'Qui Sommes Nous?' and of course - the immortal 'Voyage, Voyage'.

'Voyage Voyage', on the other hand, is a rewarded lonesome massive hit and just as equally a curse - and it's not meant just for Desireless. Many other French artists produced superb pop music (albums and singles alike), but 'Voyage Voyage' is one such moment impossible to compete with. A true anthem of French pop music. Simple, soothing, transcendental...

In its 7" variant, the song is even more rewarding as it includes a charming non-album instrumental, the B-side called 'Destin Fragile', which makes this single a tiny little oddity in itself, to be listened to over and over again.
