Awesome album of Detroit styles of dance music. Funky and dirty vocally and musically. Comedy infused and influenced by classic-era Chicago underground - this is a timeless release I return to time and time again. Top fave.

This vinyl version does not make sense at all. All the best songs, like Sandwiches, Ride and After School Special are not included. What a shame.

This is a serious love note to detroit, or perhaps a love smack on its ass. Opening with a huge blast of Funkadelic glory, the album goes on to cover such diverse but related ground as ghettotech, techno and detroit electro with humor and warm, booming bass. I know everyone loves "Sandwiches", but this album is more than just the bread, it's the meat.

I love this album: It starts out with a fat P-funk track (Funk All Y'all), continues with ghettotech with hilarious lyrics about pimpin', ho-slapping & booty, next to some dirty electro (tracks 11-13 are one nasty electrotrip) and it rather surprisingly ends with a beautiful deep techno/house track (Rain).
