Dettinger ‎– Oasis

Not my favorite album by Dettinger, but still satisfying, relaxing and therapeutic, probably best listened at night. My favorite tracks are 2 and 5.

For Dettinger's second album, OASIS, he continues his ambient onslaught, as "1" slowly throbs and crackles until the larger tones break through. He keeps his percussion crunchy, full of tiny bits of grain and hiss. "2" seems to beam down more from outer space, while "3" is more guitar-driven, with vocal samples that nod at the Cocteau Twins. "4" returns to the tech, though, with a cool piece punctuate by sharp chirps, but the warmth of "5" helps melt away the chill... while still remaining chill. The heartbeat and feedback of "6" contrast with the brightness of "7." A lovely, spacious journey.

Freaking amazing artist. What and where is Dettinger? Only a couple years of producing music for the public, but all of his releases are epic.
This LP is a destination stop off, during the journey that was started with his first LP "Intershop".
(It sounds as if) You have been traveling in space (perhaps in Cryosleep) and finally get to move your lethargic "sea" legs, while feeling the pull of planetary gravity once more.
Why not stop at the market (side B), and peruse the alien merchandise that is sure to impress your friends back on Earth? Or, if you are feeling energetic enough, a little romp in the zero-G Sex chamber with some Alien prostitutes.
All in all, It is an "Oasis" of sensational pleasures.
