My mam, who is such a very big fan of Kevin Rowland, and also helped me to choose my Discogs name (Midnight Runner) in his honour, is finding so much solace in this jaunty song at the current moment. In fact, she has even written a letter, to Kevin Rowland, to insist that he re-records it, and sing “Covid-19” where he normally sings, “Come on Eileen”. She says, it will be a number 1, and that he could use all the money to buy the NHS nurses a nice present, like a bumper box of choccies, to say thank you for their diligent and attentive care. So, “come on Kevin” don’t be a stick in the mud, and do your bit!!
